PinCup ("we", "us") lets you save, organize, and share places you discover. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
Account information: email address, name, alias/username, bio, and profile photo you provide when you sign up or edit your profile.
Content you create: pins (places you save), notes, ratings, collections, and photos you attach to them.
Location: when you use the map's "locate me" feature or browse the map, we use your device's location (precise or approximate, based on what you've granted in Settings) to show relevant places near where you're looking. This is tied to your account but is only used to serve your own map — never sold or used for advertising.
Photos: if you grant photo library or camera access, we use it only to let you attach photos to your pins and profile.
How we use your information
We use your information solely to operate PinCup's core features: your account, your saved places, your collections, and the social features (following collections from other users). We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your data to third parties.
Automatic location detection from shared links
When you share a link or photo into PinCup to save a place, the caption text and/or image may be sent to Anthropic (the maker of Claude AI) to automatically detect the place's location. This is processed under Anthropic's standard API data policies — this content is not used to train Anthropic's models.
Who we share information with
Supabase — our backend provider, hosting our database, authentication, and file storage. Your account data and content are stored on their infrastructure.
Anthropic — used only to process shared links/images for automatic location detection, as described above.
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for their own purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or remove your profile information, pins, and collections at any time in the app.
You can revoke location, camera, or photo library access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy.
You can permanently delete your account at any time from Profile → Edit Profile → Delete Account. This immediately and irreversibly removes your account credentials, profile, pins, and collections from our systems — there is no waiting period and no need to contact us separately.
Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your pins, collections, and profile data are removed from our active systems; residual copies may persist briefly in backups before they are purged.
Children's privacy
PinCup is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
